From Ideation to Finalization

Ideate
Every project is sparked by an idea and paired with insight.
I am a passionate observer and draw inspiration from everyday experiences. Always leaning on human truths, I use this observation to inform my empathetic design approach.
Understand
Asking the important questions.
Thorough research is key to developing relevant and effective solutions. This includes market research, audience profiling, identifying pain points, and visual research.
Explore
Embrace curiosity.
Curiosity is the playground where ideas shift from expected to magical. Embracing the freedom to explore different solutions and try new things is my favorite part of the creative process. Mind mapping and sketching are my preferred methods.
Create
Break out the sketchbook and Sharpies.
I always start pen to paper. My sketchbook houses drafted logos, graphic elements, layouts, wireframes, letterforms, and copy ideas. Once the ideas are out on paper, I translate them digitally.
Critique
Talk. Test. Try again.
Getting work in front of fresh eyes and gathering constructive criticism elevated ideas. I like to share work with people both close to and far from the project to hear from different perspectives.
Repeat
Create again, again and again.
An iterative process allows me to work through all of the kinks of the problem and deliver the most effective solution.
Finalize
Voilà!
After critiquing and recreating, design made is made. Engaging in an intentional process bears intentional work– add a dash of the unexpected and design magic begins to brew.
